FAQs

Pan Types For Scrubbers
We recommend using our scrubbers on cast iron and other uncoated pots and pans only. While many customers report success using our scrubbers on carbon steel, countertops, bakeware, glassware, and more, we urge caution to avoid scratching.

Chainmail Scrubbers Safety
The safety of our scrubbers varies from pan to pan, however, we urge caution when trying our products on non-cast iron surfaces. Since our product is made from 310-grade stainless steel, it has the potential to scratch steel surfaces that are made from reduced-quality steel. We also make a Chainmail Dishcloth which is a bit gentler due to finer rings.

KM Lifetime Guarantee
All manufacturing defects for Knapp Made Products are covered by our 100% Lifetime Guarantee.

When To Replace Brush Heads
Based on customer feedback, we recommend replacing your Brush Heads every 2 months, at 15-20 uses, or when there is visible wear and tear on the bristles, whichever comes first.

Where are your products made?
All of our products are designed in the USA and they are manufactured in partnership with a factory in China to ensure our customers that better BBQ starts with superior tools. The best quality for a price that you will love!

Do you offer a wholesale program?
Yes, we do! Kindly reach out to orders@bbq-aid.com and a member of our team will be happy to assist! You may also order directly on Faire.

What is your return policy?
In the unlikely event that we can't make things right, our return policy provides for a 14-day period where you may return products to us in new condition, for a full refund. The only restriction to this policy includes personalized products, which cannot be returned.

Which scrubber is the most popular?
The chainmail combo scrubber with a bacteria resistant silicone core is our most popular scrubber, due to the fact that it features both a heavy duty ring side for all your cast iron needs as well as a fine ring side for everything else in your kitchen.

How heavy are your tools?
The average BBQ-AID tool is between 12 and 18 ounces in weight. Since we only use the best quality materials, such as Acacia wood and stainless steel, our tools feel heavy duty and solid whenever you use them.

What is the difference between your bristle free grill brush and grill brush & scraper?
Our Bristle Free Grill Brush features our bristle free triple helix brush, heavy duty scraper head and acacia wood handle designs, allowing you to clean your grill with no worry of loose bristles in your food. Our Grill Brush and Scraper is our most popular grill brush, with easy to replace brush heads featuring nylon bristles that are heat resistant up to 325°, rust resistant stainless steel core and ergonomic acacia handle.

How do I use Cast Iron Wax?

  1. Heat: Place your cast iron pan in the oven and preheat your oven to 200-350 degrees F (93-177 C), allowing the cast iron to heat up for about twenty minutes.
  2. Rub: Rub Cast Iron Wax by Knapp Made on all sides of your cast iron pan (including the cover) with a rag or paper towel. Using a separate clean rag or paper towels, rub the cast iron for a second time, leaving a thin layer of wax on the pan.
  3. Polymerize: Place your cast iron back in the oven for one hour at 480-500 degrees F (250-260 C). This will allow for polymerization of Cast Iron Wax for seasoning to occur.
  4. Repeat: Repeat this process three times to make the pan slick and ready to cook.

Is Cast Iron Wax good for cutting boards?
Yes! Using our Cast Iron Wax on cutting boards and wooden utensils not only helps to make them look great, but extends the life and quality of those products.

Can I use my scrubber on Stainless Steel?
We do not recommend you use the heavy duty larger ring scrubbers on stainless steel as there's a chance it can scratch and potentially ruin the finish. You can use the 7” Dishcloth as well as the fine ring side of the Chainmail Combo Scrubber on stainless steel with no worries of damaging or scratching.

What makes your products more sustainable than competitors?
It all starts with our materials. BBQ-AID has invested in the best materials possible beginning with our Acacia wood handles. Acacia wood is used due to its density making it rot resistant and weather-proof. We then use rust resistant stainless steel allowing our tools to last longer. Our goal is to provide you with a tool that lasts multiple seasons, so you do not need to replace it year after year.

Is BBQ-AID and Knapp the same company?
